Product Development & Tech Pack Service at Sleek Apparels

How It Works

Not every buyer arrives with a complete tech pack — and you don’t need one. Send us a sketch, a reference garment, or even just an idea, and our development team will build the tech pack, source the right fabrics, and engineer the fit. We advise on construction, costing, and fabric choices so your product hits both your quality target and your price point.

Key Features

  • Tech pack creation from sketches or reference garments
  • Fit engineering and size specification development
  • Fabric and trim recommendations matched to your budget
  • Costing guidance before you commit
  • Pattern making and grading for full size runs

What we can start from

Development stalls when a factory insists on a complete spec before it will talk to you. We work from whatever you actually have, and fill the gaps ourselves.

  • A hand sketch or a flat drawing — we translate it into measurable specs.
  • A reference garment you like — we take it apart, measure it, and rebuild it to your changes.
  • A finished tech pack — we review it for buildability and flag anything that will cost you money in bulk.
  • A written idea and a target price — we propose a construction that fits the number.

What a finished tech pack contains

The tech pack is the contract between your design and the sewing floor. Ours is built so any competent factory could produce from it — not just us.

  • Flat sketches with callouts for every seam, stitch type, and construction detail.
  • A graded point-of-measure chart across your full size run, with tolerances.
  • Fabric and trim specification: composition, GSM, finish, and approved substitutes.
  • Artwork placement with print/embroidery method, dimensions, and Pantone references.
  • Label, care, and packing specification for your destination market.

Costing guidance before you commit

Most cost overruns are designed in, not manufactured in. A collar construction, a fabric weight, or a trim choice made early can move your FOB price 15–20%. We cost the design while it is still cheap to change it, and show you which decisions are driving the number so you can trade off deliberately rather than discover it at quotation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a tech pack before contacting you?

No. Roughly half our new buyers arrive with a sketch or a sample garment and nothing else. We build the tech pack as part of development — you approve it before sampling begins.

Do you charge for product development?

Development work is folded into the sampling cost for buyers who go on to produce with us. Standalone tech pack work is quoted per style — tell us the style and we will give you a fixed number.

Who owns the tech pack and the patterns?

You do. The tech pack, graded patterns, and any artwork we digitise for you belong to your brand and are yours to take to another factory if you ever choose to.

How long does development take?

A straightforward knit style is typically 3–5 working days from brief to approved tech pack, then 7–10 days for the first sample. Complex wovens or heavily engineered fits take longer — we give you a date at the brief stage.
